The phantom on the rooftops

A couple of weeks ago I went to a friends concert in downtown Bellingham to take some pictures and have a few drinks. On the way back home I heard some beautiful blues coming a parking garage, got curious and decided to snoop around. After climbing to the second floor I came across Ace Cassidy wailing away on his saxophone for all to hear at two in the morning. The self-proclaimed “phantom on the rooftops,” Cassidy, stood in the 40 degree weather leaning against the railing of the garage while wearing a sports jacket and dress pants and playing classic blues pieces. “I like to play, and the only time I have to play is at night,” said Cassidy. Cassidy said he makes it out to play a couple of times a month, never playing for the attention or as a means to make extra money, but as a creative outlet and for the enjoyment of making music for others. Here are a few shots I took. Enjoy, David
