Since I really began to pursue photography last winter, I have tried to stay away from flash photography. This is largely because my photojournalism professor, John Harris, would have essentially failed us for using a flash on an assignment and also because true photojournalism doesn’t alter images by any external means. This being said, I wish I would have tried flash photography sooner because it is really fun. I recently borrowed a flash from a good friend and have been experimenting over the past week with all the different kinds of things you can do with a flash. It is most definitely something I will invest in. Here are a few shots I took during a prom party and a few others of my roommate, Jason, practicing race starts. Most of the shots use flash but a few with Jason were shot without one. Hope you enjoy, David.
